Ever since I saw the first lightning, I told myself that it would be perfect with 3GB of VRAM and MSI delivered, I've been waiting for this one for a while and I know some people were eagerly waiting as well. Mods decide what you want to do with this thread, I'm out.

Good for you op! You buy whatever cards will make you happy. Some people are just jealous that others are successful enough to afford the best...

Is it hard to afford these? they are so cheap! frown.gif

Sorry, I didn't realize that all criticisms boiled down to jealousy on a finiancial level.

I produce video game content on youtube. Its not my primary job but it makes up 25% of my income and it's continuing to grow and I hope to continue to provide good looking content for my subscribers. If I only wanted performance I'd have gone with 2 6970's, but the drivers and the overall more software support was a major part of the decision.

I was talking retail, not cards with big rebates. But you knew that.

IMO, If you don't have nothing good to say, better don't say nothing at all.

Thanks, I just got excited when it got in stock, made the purchase and let the community know. I was hesitating to add that I had bought some for that very reason, but I overestimated the friendliness of some of the newer members of this forum.

No one's attacking you, they're calmly/maturely explaining the logic of why they think what they do, well, some of them are.

OP, that was a great buy. It is a shame MSI released these so late into the year but oh well. They are great cards and they will certainly handle whatever you want them too. Nice buy, wish I could afford them. Don't let this fool try and tell you your purchase was stupid. If there wasn't a market\need for them MSI wouldn't produce them.

But you were happy paying a $160 premium for non-reference cards that will likely clock lower on air than reference models on water?

Last I checked, buying an item from a retailer qualifies as retail pricing.

P.S. It's only a $40 MIR.
