I honestly just don't care about Physx when it requires Nvidia to fork out huge amounts of cash for developers to even implement it in the very few select games that can even benefit from it. The notion that they have to pay developers to use their propriety based software seems silly to me.

Looks like it will use the CPU as well. Good news for the 8 core AMD FX processor that will be coming out. More cores more performance.

Mehh, anything PhysX related is not important to the gaming world.

Developing through SDK's = no innovation.

That's why we never see anything new with PhysX, just the same old stuff over and over again (glass staying on the floor, cloth, etc).

People should play Red Faction: Guerrilla, and the newly released Armageddon, so they can see how a real physics engine impacts gameplay.

Let's hope this new Bullet Physics Engine catches on (it should since it's OpenCL based).

GPU-accelerated PhysX is ONLY for effects, so, meh. And it's proprietary to a specific brand of GPUs, which means developers will be less likely to use it.

PhysX was a half-good idea, half-decently implemented.

It requires special consideration and coding from the developer, on top of the physics system they already have to create to be run on the CPU.

So, yes, it's proprietary.

It's like that one special candle on the birthday cake that shoots tiny fireworks for half a minute. You have to drive across town just to find it, on top of the other candles you already have, and only half the kids actually like it.

Not just that mate, it has ZERO low level accessibility.

Which pretty much means the only way to "develop" is through SDK's, which is pretty lame if you asked me.
