Dear god. I can't believe people are still defending PhysX.

EDIT: With console support, coupled with crossfire+sli available on the same chipsets, PhysX is about to get a much more involved role in the gaming industry!

This is why I bought the GTX 550ti
+one to this man

now chipsets are going to support both sli and xfire more and more games will support it physx its going to be seen in a lot more that simple. even if you get a ATI die hard he will still get a 9xxx series card if it will make the gaming experience better. i know i would, hell i have a 560gtx and i would ati card if it ment a game would get more eye candy.

just google:

Batman physx vs no physx

ATi has a reason for pushing Havok
It's more universal than any other Physics engine

See! I KNEW PHYSX wasn't dead and everyone keeps saying that and i said NO.. they will have a comeback and i was RIGHT! Where's my cookie?!

PhysX is a joke...
There aren't many games that support PhysX. GeForce.com only lists 13 total (source).

It's more of a buzzword to sell cards to people who think PhysX applies to every game when it doesn't. It's probably also popular for short film animations or tech demos/benchmarks.

Perhaps 3.0 will change things, as it sounds like an extensive rewrite of the SDK.
Doesn't one of the consoles (wanna say its the XBox 360) use an ATI based GPU? So how is the phys-x gonna be implemented on that console but not on ATI/AMD GPU based PCs?

I'm just confused... not hating.

AMD is pushing for Bullet Physics using OpenGL last I heard. ATi was working with Havok until Havok was purchased by Intel.

Pretty much.

Games using PhysX (looks like about 20-25):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PhysX#PhysX_in_video_games

Games using Havok (looks like about 220-240):
http://www.havok.com/index.php?page=available-games

Also, I've programmed games/engines with both, and Havok is far better IMO.
