Not a lot, but it helps. Oh and you can only shorten ONE all zero word.

Otherwise I guess you just get used to it. I've been working with them for a while so it's just not that big a deal I guess.

You'll learn how to shortcut IPv6, you can reduce the address where leading 0's or blocks of 0 exist. Then of course there is EUI-64 which is just your ipv4 mac address smushed in the middle 64bits.

Someone said you could cover every square inch of the galaxy with IPv6. If they decide to start giving RFID chips a IP address then they may get used up quicker. Your bag of chips will have a IP address, lol.
