Here's what worked for me to get smp folding.

•In the Terminal window you should see a prompt that looks something like this: yourusername@yourcomputername ~ $

•To download the 64 bit FAH client type in (or copy/paste) the following commands:
Quote:
mkdir -p ~/folding
Quote:
cd ~/folding
Quote:
tar xzf FAH6.34-Linux64.tgz
Quote:
chmod +x fah6
Quote:
./fah6 -configonly -smp
Quote:
./fah6 -smp -verbosity 9
Some guides don't show the enitre hyperlink and that was an issue in terminal. Copy that command in two parts. First the "curl -O", paste that and than copy and paste the hyperlink. This is a shortened version from the FAH site

OK,all these commands will be in the terminal and I will only hit enter once? Each command will have its own line,or does that even matter?

EDIT: any idea on why I get the "no such file" message?

EDIT: my machine has wget on it but I see the option to add curl, should I do this?

EDIT: at the beginning the flag was -betabigadv but now I believe the beta is gone and if your 12+ cores are detected there is a chance to get a 6903, but like always no guarantee as far as getting the WU you want,or so I conclude.

Yes

It doesn't matter. To make it easier for you to see, have the "Terminal" window take up the top half of you screen, and the browser take up the bottom half.

Copy the text and show us. After which command to you get that message?

OK,I am taking the chicken off the grill in 5 min so it will be about 40 min. before I post back. Thanks again, this will be my little miracle if I get something like this going in Linux, I have a Linux phobia for some reason. Last night I read about the "shebang" command #/ isn't that what it looks like? who comes up with these names anyway?

EDIT: nothing from me on a 2689
