Any recommendations for a bricked LGA 1366 mobo replacement?

Namely the Sabertooth X58. It' not totally bricked, but an RMA is looking necessary.

Issues with the prior mobo were discussed here:

http://www.overclock.net/intel-mothe...s-bizaare.html

Asus is now two days late of their 48 hour guarantee of returning on my customer support ticket, but I'm suspecting an RMA recommendation from them too.

In any case, I'm thinking I'm going to collect a refund on this board and get another one, due to the market improvement since I bought this board last year. Any recommendations?

What sort of budget are you thinking of?
There's a hundred nice motherboards out there that fit your narrow specifications. (X58, 1 Graphic card solution, ATX/mATX.)

I concur. If you want a new one, I would say the Gigabyte x58a model line is pretty good.

It doesn't have to be a Sabertooth X58. I'm willing to try a better motherboard if someone has a good suggestion. Just has to fit my specs and have good OC support, and <$300 CND.

Oh yeah, about that: shipping stuff to Newfoundland is 10 dollars at it's cheapest unless there's a deal on newegg.ca. I cannot lay claim to anything that only ships to intercontinental USA.

Not a fan of the PCI slot layout I'm seeing on these Gigabite boards. There appears to be no optimal room for my sound card, and it places it above my GPU where it's going to be blocking the GPU's outgoing fan.

Too expensive for me, plus it doesn't have a PCI Express x1 slot (which I need for the sound card)

I'll examine the card tomorrow. I think the teeth of the card lie flush with the top, so it will clear the chipset that's clearly blocking the other PCI Express x1 on the Gigabyte boards. Namely this one:

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16813128422

What are the repercussions of running a GPU off a PCI Express 16x other than the one the mobo manufacturer recommends? It's evidently enough that all of them take the time to point it out right in the features list before you buy it. It was a little more evident on the Sabertooth, which only had one 16x slot (rest being 4x) but this board claims to have all 16x slots.

The ud5 you linked description has 2 x x16 running at x16, 2 x x16 running at x8.
I know the OC you can run single gpu in either slot, can't remember if I've tried it on the ud3r or ud7.

If you're asking what the repercussions are for running a graphics card without an x16 channel are, it's lower bandwidth on data transfer. This is really irrelevant in x8, but it's a noticeable performance decrease in x4. However, with a budget of $300USD, you can pretty much avoid this all together, considering this is only present in low priced "SLI/XFIRE CAPABLE" motherboards.
