Uh, yes it will. The 320 maxes out the SATA 3gb/s bus on read speeds (that is, 270-280mb/s). Even the 80gb drives (the 40gb won't.)

At SATA 3gb/s speeds, the M4 isn't going to be any better than the Intel. If he had a SATA 6gb/s port, then yes, it will run away from the 320.

To OPs question if a SATA 6gb/s drive will be significantly faster than a 3gb/s drive in boot times, I don't have hard evidence but I doubt it. My system takes longer to POST than to boot into Windows.

Yep. Reliability and more space, or pretty reliable and more speed. Neither is a bad choice.

The main issue is prices in Aus are expensive for both.

Around $220 for the Intel

About $180 for the Crucial

Also could buy the Crucial directly from the www.crucial.com and even with international shipping i save about $40.

I'm in the same situation as OP, haven't bought anything yet, and can't provide concrete proof, but I'm leaning towards Intel simply because there are almost zero bad, angry, or annoyed reviews . There are a couple on the M4, and that stuff scares me. If I were in your shoes ( I essentially am ) I would (and probably will ) get the Intel.
