Well,if the installed drivers are not correct for the new system,I'm thinking it would do the same thing,so here's to hoping it works
I have used that hotfix to switch to AHCI mode after installing in IDE mode...worked perfect.It would not boot before the hotfix.

Not sure, I'll try when I get home...

I was sort of assuming the image backup would work as long as the HDD you were restoring to was the same size, appears something else is messing with it
