Thread Starter
hi guys,,
I have recently come across a few problems with my new rig which i got almost few months back. The problems i am facing are -- my CPU is heating up really fast and is frequently touching 60c while my Graphics card also frequently touches 82c. MY rig specifications are :-
Processor - AMD Phenom II X6 1075
Mother Board - is Gigabyte 880GM - USB3
SMPS - Corsair GS600 power supply
Cabinet - Cooler master elite
HD - 1 tB
Graphics card is a XFX RADEON HD6870
So i wanted to how can i get rid of the heating problem that i am facing,,, whether i should change my cabinet or install a new CPU cooler with a few good case fans ??

Well what kind of cpu cooler do you use?
Your GPU temperatures are normal.

Okay, if it came with the system, it's most likely an AMD stock cooler.
At load you should be hitting maybe 55 degrees celcius.

Couple questions which will help me out here:
What kind of air flow do you have in your case? (EG: Are there many cables in the way, how many fans do you have drawing air in?)
What is your ambient temperature?

Alright, your problem is that you have little airflow.
2 120mm fans isn't nearly enough in a cramped badly managed case, especially running a 1075T and a 6870.

Clean the cables up, and try and get some more fans. Also, get an aftermarket CPU cooler. Temperatures will be much better.

For beginners I usually recommend the Hyper 212+. Install is pretty self-explanatory, it can mount both ways on all sockets (I think), don't need new fans to get performance out of it. It's also cheap.

Yes, get a good case. A good case can make all the difference. I really have no suggestions as none of the cases I've used have been "known" for cooling capability.
