Yes the second game is better, and it's one of the best looking games on PC right now, but if you didn't like the first game I don't know if you'll like the sequel. If you like gorgeous fantasy themed art design, get TW2. If you hate RPGs, maybe not so much. I would play The Witcher first, though, both because it's a great RPG and because The Witcher 2 assumes that you know the events that took place in the first game.

It was 33.99 at Frys electronics on release day on DVD. I bought on steam though cause I like having my games on steam.

The Witcher 2 is the best game this year thus far. Just got to chapter 2 and I can't believe how awesome this game is.

I am glad this game is so awesome cause Dragon Age 2 was such a disappointment.

I actually didn't like the first Witcher all that much. I liked the music but something about the game made me not want to play it and I mean besides all the technical issues it suffered. The second one is a different game and a beast of an RPG.

Just to express my wacko-ness a bit more:

Then they gave it away for free to the community. CDPR is extremely vocal about being a PC-centric dev. studio. Look into the company. You'll see how absurd your "second point" is.

Whether we like it or not, TW2 has been 'console tainted' from the get-go. And why you may ask...for $$$ (big bucks) obviously.

But my all means buy the PC VERSION to keep PC game development live and well. This game ROCKS!!!

The controls in the game and everything is exactly the way I would expect them to be if it was a PC exclusive. Works fantastic and doesn't feel console tainted at all. All they said is that they had a console version in mind. Maybe you read to much into it?
