ASUS P8B WS - Integrated Graphics

Thread Starter
I'm looking to build a mid-tower server for a small company, and I have a question about the ASUS P8B WS motherboard:

In order to use the P8B's on-board graphics, would I HAVE to use an intel cpu with the on-die graphics, or could I use one WITHOUT on-die graphics (such as the xeon e3-1230)?

In other words, do the embedded graphics in the P8B only function with a corresponding Intel chip with on-die graphics, or can i use a chip with no on-die graphics?

According to the Asus specifications, it already has an onboard graphics chips:

Aspeed AST2050 with 16MB VRAM

Should be fine and I don't think you need an on-die GPU on your CPU.
