Ok thats it, what wheel will work?

Right now I use the driving force EX for my driving....game, I use the singular version of that word because no other games (dirt 2&3, F1 2010) seem to recognize it, seems pointless having a wheel and a nice eyefinity setup to only be able to play NFS shift. (You can get it to work with F1 but not fully recognized, no feedback etc)

Frankly I like my Driving force EX, comfortable in the hand, strong force feedback, full array of buttons and D-Pad, paddle shifters, its nice for its cheap cost (cheaper for me, think I got it for $10 at a garage sale), but each game I go to play tells me to go fly a kite when it comes to using the wheel because it isnt supported, its starting to get frustrating.

So I ask you, what would be comparable to my current wheel, in a similar price range that actually is supported by PC games.

*Note* yes I know the G25/G27 is awesome, really awesome, the best wheels ever made, if you want a real experience you should get one, no other wheel comes close, its not worth it to spend money on anything else....gotcha, dont have the money for one and the list of things I need to get before spending $200-$300 on a new wheel is long and distinguished...so please, dont mention them unless you are planning on donating one.

Well the G25 and G27 aren't the best wheels out there. There is better of course.

The Driving Force GT or Driving Force Pro are supported. The GT had minor revisions over the pro, but still feels the same just a little less noisier.

I bought a DFP for $50 on CL not too long back.

Well at least now you know why you got it for $10 at a garage sale.

I like the look of the GT, seems to have a lot of features I want but when you look up reviews it seems its predominately negative. Makes me cautious

its a ps2/PC wheel, works for every PS2 game I have tried plus works well for the game(s) it works with on PC, solid and all around pretty awesome, especially for $10. I would call it a pretty good deal.

What I cant seem to figure out, is why you would take the time to load up OCN on your phone, browse threads from where ever you are (for some reason I have this mental picture of you sitting on a subway train) then take the time to post, from your phone...that. I could see if you were adding useful advice or commentary, but that almost seems like a waste of time.

the fanatec wheels are nice. their lowest price wheel is $159 before shipping, i think. I dont think I would go back to geared wheels after spending so much time with belt driven ones. the force feedback is much smoother and more realistic. You dont feel the notches like with geared wheels. Still, the g25 and 27 are good wheels.

Yeah, just cant afford it right now, even after we talk about bills and needing to take my son to the dentist I really want to get new balls for my pool table, need a TV for the living room bigger than 32in (sad when I have more viewing area in my eyefinity computer setup than I do on my TV). All sorts of stuff, guess I will just have to deal with playing just the few games my EX can support until a time where a wheel is high on the list. Thanks!

With the DFGT or DFP when set to less than 900 degrees it's great. The FFB on Shift at default is incredibly strong and annoying.

I love my DFP it just needs a little tweaking. I added bungee cord to increase the resistance on the pedals and I added more weights to it as well. Tends to slide on carpet. The hold down mechanism sucks. So I added a few light coats of Plastidip on the underside. The paddle shifters are too small so I made my own acrylic attachments. Then there is the issue of the wheel being a bit too small. I'm yet to come up with a fix. Those are the little nuisances it has.
