Yes it does uses more power and you could say it runs hot/noisy but still ATM it's a great deal for a high end card..

Also it is more torture proof than GTX570 and does not suffer from weak VRM's..

My stock cooled reference Zotac GTX480 does 850/1025MHz w/ 1075mV and with a custom fan profile in Afterburner it hits 85C in games/3DMark 11/Heaven benchmark..

CHEERS..
believe me man i trust u 100% my mates have a gtx 480 and the other a 6970 we saw no difference,i actually changed my mind and im getting the 480!!,btw can ppl plz stop saying its power hungry and loud i really dont care about that and the 570 isnt really better then it(im not in the mood to say why)

u should buy ASUS 560GTX ti $250 (if u wants to save some bucks)
ASUS 560GTX ti is excellent have brilliant OC abilities
sure ur BF3 run excellent
OR
ASUS 570GTX is best ever(in OC,in lower temps,in style)
just once seen this and sure u love with this (after saw this u forget about 480GTX)
ASUS 570GTX is monster this will run ur every game at 1920x1080p at HIGHHERR setting

conclusion
never buy 480GTX
Why so much hate on the 480?
I just picked one up for $225 shipped from new egg. It'll run circles around the 560.

Yah it draws more power and makes more heat, but come on, this is OCN, I don't see anyone whining about processor's running hot and drawing more power when they take them from stock clocks to 5ghz

Plus, the 570 is straight garbage, theres plenty of people who haven't blown them up, but theres equally as many people who have. It's a known problem that their VRM's suck so suggesting that over a 480 is retarded, not to mention they are slower, and more expensive.

Find a good deal on a 480 and you will be happy, or wait it out. But if anything, just don't buy a 570.

This would be an appraisal. Appraisal threads belong in the appraisals section. Makes sense, right? As such, this thread cannot be here, especially since you need 35 rep to have an Appraisal thread.
