hello

need some help guys.

got my cpu to 4.7ghz i know thats ok but im on full water so seems a waste

this is were im upto sorry about the poor pictures not got a usb stick for print screens

ive tried 4.8@ 1.39v and got blue screen. been reading guides for 2 days now and they all pretty much the same.

will take a look at that one

im runing prime at the moment and normally its bsod before i even get to open prime95 lol

changed them setting running prime now. will give it 20 mins half hour ish


i know there are hundreds of threads about safe volts. but have the come up with a number yet??

or is there a safe ish volts to go by?

this is my take on voltae and temps for the new cpu's:

No one is absolutely certain of what the safe vcore is for the new sandybridge chips. What I can tell you is that many say the max safe vcore for these chips are 1.3 region, however, intel states that the max 'VID' is 1.52 and many say that around 1.4 if your on air and 1.45 should be the max if your running water cooling. Personally I will not go above 1.5v for 24/7 with these chip but it is totally upto you. The main thing to understand is that 'you' have to come up with the conclusion of what the max is. That way no one is blamed if the chip degrades or dies.

Regarding temps, CPU throttles at 95c, some say keeping it below 85c is good, some say keeping it below 80 is better, other's say below 75c is really good and there are quite a few that say 70c should be the max. Which ever one your confortable with, just remember it throttles at 95c. I personally am keeping mine below 70c.




Here try these and work around these in accordance to your rig:

VCCSA Voltage: Auto it's advised not to touch that one
VCCIO Voltage: Auto for now but increasing it can help stability, keep it below 1.2 for 24/7
CPU PLL Voltage: 1.75v, lowering can help overall temps and usually doesn't effect stability
Auto PLL Overvoltage: Enabled
PCH Voltage: Auto
VRM Frequency: 350
Duty Control: Extreme
Phase Control: Extreme
CPU current Capability Auto - 100%, 130% can help.
CPU Multi 47 by each core
CPU BCLK: 100, can be changed but I usuall y leave it at 100
CPU voltage: 1.4 Manual, reduce or up when required
DDR Voltage: Rated stock volts
Spread Spectrum: Disabled
LLC: High or Ultra High (check which one works better for vdroop)

Test those with a few minutes of blend each time and reduce or up vcore when bsod.

LLC -> Ultra High
Internal PLL Overvoltage -> Enable
Phase Control -> Extreme
Duty Control -> T.Probe or w/e default is fine.
CPU PLL -> 1.65-1.7v
vCore -> 1.4-1.42v (for 4.8 GHz) and then bring it down from there. You would need a very good chip to do 4.8 at anything under 1.38v

I found CPU current to not really change anything for me, and Spread Spectrum Disabled or Auto both worked fine, left it disabled.

I wouldnt call 4.7 a waste of water cooling, I run 4.6 now in the summer because it keeps my loads no higher than like 50-52C. Also, I would not run 24/7 load for something like folding over 1.4v. If your gonna go 1.4-1.5v, I would make sure its just for normal usage.
