0x1E = increase vcore

that was the bsod i did google it but didnt say a great deal.

done 18 mins now and so far so good.

got everything set as above apart from

CPU PLL Voltage: 1.75v
CPU current Capability Auto - 100%, 130%

ill change them when i restar and go for higher

just tried 4.9 and got error code 0100000124 do you know what that means

will be happy at 5ghz but from 4.7 to 4.8 im happier

when ive finished clocking do you think the clocks will still be fine when i set my memory to stock speeds?

there at 1333 9 9 9 24 at the moment but rated at 2000 6 8 6 24. but will set them at 1866mhz

I hope your not overclocking the cpu and the RAM both at the same time. lol

I would drop the RAM back to stock and concentrate on the cpu, it seems like you need to bump the voltage higher. 1.45v would probably net you 4.9ghz with HT.

no the ram is rated at 2000mhz 6 9 6 24 and ive got it at 1855mhz 6 9 6 24 now i did have it yesterday at 1333mhz 9 9 9 24

seems a bit high 1.45 dont really want it a 1.41

temps are good tho. max 65c and i can lower them buy turning up the fan speed on the fan controller.

your not getting what im saying, leave the ram at it's rated speed, timing and voltage. With that said you can cenentrate on getting the cpu stable first before doing anything RAM related. That way you can be sure that stability issue's will be on your cpu rather than just guessing if it's your RAM.

1.41v is NOT enough for 4.9Ghz, you would have to have a top notch chip for that overclock and considering the info in this post, I would say your 2600k is about average.

BSOD 124 -> 95% of the time w/ sandy bridge is add move vcore.

Last i knew there was no 2000mhz setting on p67 boards. Its 1866mhz or 2133mhz. So 1866 w/ default timings is probably the right call for him.

I can't set my ram to its rated speed it has to be under. I can set the timing.s correctly and volts.

Will 1.45 be ok for 24/7 clocks

also will disabling speed stepping help with clocks or is it ok to leave that on with the sandy chips

Ah gotcha, in that case run it at 1866mhz with default timing and voltage. More thank likely as rmp has said 1.41 is not enough for 4.9ghz, that said maybe 1.45v could work.

This is my take on on 24/7 voltage and temps for sandybridge:

No one is absolutely certain of what the safe vcore is for the new sandybridge chips. What I can tell you is that many say the max safe vcore for these chips are 1.3 region, however, intel states that the max 'VID' is 1.52 and many say that around 1.4 if your on air and 1.45 should be the max if your running water cooling. Personally I will not go above 1.5v for 24/7 with these chip but it is totally upto you. The main thing to understand is that 'you' have to come up with the conclusion of what the max is. That way no one is blamed if the chip degrades or dies.

Regarding temps, CPU throttles at 95c, some say keeping it below 85c is good, some say keeping it below 80 is better, other's say below 75c is really good and there are quite a few that say 70c should be the max. Which ever one your confortable with, just remember it throttles at 95c. I personally am keeping mine below 70c.

For me speedstep doesn't effect the overclock, so leaving it on makes sense. It also helps overall temps.
