Need help picking ram. (1155 mobo - 2500k cpu)

Thread Starter
Hi, i'm building a new rig and need some help deciding what ram to buy.
This is for a 2500k cpu on a P8P67 asus mobo.

I will be using this rig for gaming, music (producing) and graphical development. My MAXIMUM budget is €110. So please don't post items that exceed this budget. I'm willing to make exceptions but only if its REALLY WORTH IT.

I'm thinking 4GB will suffice, but if 8GB is available within that budget I won't mind at all. Keep in mind that i'm not a hardcore oc'er. I might give it a shot eventually but right now it's not so important to me.

Eventually i'll be buying the parts on this website:

Thanks in advance.

4gb 1333 should be fine unless the music production stuff uses more than 4gb but I doubt that.

High speeds, tight timings makes very little difference in the new i5/i7's. I would recommmend RipjawX 1600mhz 1.5 cl9.

Read this: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/mem...sandy-bridge/1

Only difference you will see is in benchmarking, ie superpi.

The store I'm ordering it from doesn't seem to sell G skill memory.
Any other suggestions?

What about these?

that's great memory but it could be 1.65v so it might not be able to do it's rated speed at the 1155 recommended memory voltage of 1.5v.

Oh, I thought I selected 1.5v.

I guess this one is good then?

So do 1155 boards NEED 1.5V rated RAM or will a 1.65V kit that naturally is detected as 1.5V work? I would really like to reuse my dominator GT's if/when I upgrade to SB. I have been doing research and I have been seeing that 1.65V will work, and I have seen in contrast that only 1.5V works.

Need clarification on which voltages are acceptable for SB CPUs, it is driving me nuts. (8 hours researching so far just on this) If all else fails I will ask intel.
