That's two optical sensors, not an optical and a laser.

Grip and prediction aside, the Mx518's Avago 3080 is one of the better sensors on the market.

Oh, I agree; but if prediction screws you up, the best malfunction speeds, lift-off-distance, and lack of acceleration on the market aren't going to help you. Especially if it's not in a shape you're comfortable holding.

Well that's the thing. Both are subjective.

What did people do before mice like the Intellimouse 1.1 and 3.0 were out? Early Avago (formally Agilent) sensors all had correction. In fact, they never really made any changes until recent years.

There are plenty of people that can play extremely well with and with out it, people that can't stand it, and people that like it.

I personally don't really mind moderate correction, but if it's anywhere near the Kinzu's level, I'll avoid it.

talk about marketing to non tech savvy people, in fact now if you buy one of these mice you are considered a pc noob, forever.
Razer's been using "G" to designate the generation of their optics for quite a while for now. In fact, many companies do that. Cell phone marketing is just one of many.

Try being even somewhat informed before you point fingers and laugh at people. I guess since you fell for their "trick" that makes you a pc noob, forever.

I do believe I pointed that out when I said that the MX518 was only good if you don't mind (or prefer) prediction. My apologies if that wasn't clear. The MX518 is great for some people, but for those that can't stand prediction, that mouse is pretty useless.
