Attachment 214354

Attachment 214355

Attachment 214356

My motherboard is gigabyte x58A-UD5, 12 gig xms3 tr3x6g1333c9 ram.
As you can see from the snapshots i have only changed base clock setting. What all should i change? I only have stock cooler so am worried about heat. Currently set at 3.5 would like to OC to 3.70. should be able to handle heat. Do I also need to change ram timings. Probably not.
thanks irv

On your second screen shot change CPU Clock Ratio from 20 to 21, that will give you 3.7GHz.

Download and run the OCCT CPU auto test and make sure that you are stable. If not post back because will will need to take some stuff off auto and set it manually.

I increased the multiplier to 21 got 3.71. I also changed the core voltage from 1.24375v to 1.35v. The core temp is running at 57deg. with very small load 0-3 percent. I then ran OCCT to stress system after a couple minutes it shut down from running heat (the occt software not my computer). I then ran a heavy math function in photoshop and obtained 70+degrees with 23 percent load. My computer seems very stable so should I just leave it alone? Bear in mind I have only stock cooler and non-watercooled case? Thanks
Irv P.S. Thanks for the OCCT software

Hi,

theres some O/C profiles of members using UD5/UD7 HERE.

They should give you a rough idea where you should be looking with your settings etc, also you will get help in there from guys with same board as you.

Download RealTemp and run it when running OCCT, if your maximum core temp in RealTemp gets over 80C then shut OCCT down.
http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/

For 3.7GHz a VCore of 1.35 to to high, that is one reason your core temp is so high. If you were fine at 3.5GHz with a Vcore of 1.24375 then just bump it up two notches first and run OCCT. If OCCT errors or if you get a BSOD then bump it up another notch or two. With my i7 950 I was at 4.2GHz with a Vcore of 1.32. With my current 980X at 4.44GHz my Vcore is only 1.36.
