Dell WLAN Card

My dell has a Mini-PCIe WLAN card "Intel WiFi Link 5100" and it only gets like 0-2 bars from my router about 50ft. away (opposite end of hallway).

I was wonder if there would be a good upgrade to this?

Should I get another Mini-PCIe or should I get a different type? (Laptop gets abused alot, but its in perfect functional condition, besides the all but 1 dead USB port /sigh).
