I don't think the Witcher 2 is that good to be honest. The LOD textures are as bad as Oblivion - it's just really badly optimized in my opinion.

The most impressive game graphically is still a modded Crysis or Metro 2033 in my opinion.

This game looks awesome but I don't think it's worth spending a second $500 for a GTX 580. I'll just run it at medium settings or whatever and be happy with it. It'll look damn good at medium!

Unless a game looks like poop, I often forget what I'm looking at in the mists of combat. I'm only at 1900x1080p so we'll see how my DirectCU II can handle it. I've yet to overclock the beast!

Now when i can max out anythig, even Metro 2033 in 3D ( DX11, all stuff maxed, DOH off - tip from Nvidia ), and i didnt even OC my card, i was very happy, until know. Its true about DX11 game from start runnin better then game with added effects on top of DX9, and makes your HW goes down to its knees, but not because it would be that demanding, nicely said to the person.

As for me, i am in a crappy situtation. I probably will drop buying new phone ( Wanted Evo 3D during christmas, hope its in EU by then ), now i should drop buying a Notebook too ? I wanted to buy a MSI MSI GT683R-261CS - This particular GT683 has 2x750GB, 15" Full HD, and "only" 8GB RAM... because on youtube GenTech says its 2x500 and 12 Gb ram.

On topic, i hope this gets cleared soon. I am also looking forward to blast my parents money and some of mine on X79 8 cores Xeons and SLI 680s... but i am not going to rush the market the first day this stuff appears. This said, i will just watch and enjoy as guest. Let the hype and flames do the theather atmosphere.
Cool story bro

My opinion as well. Farcry 2 looks as good as TW2.

No it doesn't lol. Far Cry 2 looks good, don't get me wrong, but the Witcher 2 is on a whole other level.

But it isn't, really. I've seen it firsthand - it's nothing special.

In my opinion he's probably just saying this to push some new hardware, his definition of "max out" could be at some obscene resolution with everything on and well over 60FPS. If this is true then it makes sense that nothing built ATM could truly max it out. Wasn't it just recently that BF:BC2 was "maxed out" in this way by this review where in effect everything you could want was done with a bit of head room with the dual 6990's

I think that a single 580 or 6970 will be more then enough to play the game at 1920x1080 with most everything graphically very high if not maxed, and I would hope it would be with playable FPS (60avg)

That is what "maxed out" means, everything to the absolute maximum that it can go, at 60+fps.

But he also says the game scales well, so a 580/6970 or what have you will run fine on medium/high.
