I think what he means by "maxing it out" is what it takes to max out the frostbite 2 engine. I'm sure everyone sitting on a 580 or 6970 is just fine.

Console level would probably equate to HD4290 IGP, dual core like you said 2GB RAM.

the x360 uses a 7900gtx the ps3 uses whats close to a 3250hd...

and if i cant maxx it on my system i still wont upgrade for at least 2 years...
You got them mixed up, x360 uses the 48 shader chip and PS3 uses the 7800GTX.

You do have to remember that consoles don't have as much overhead to deal with as PCs though.

Ya'll are worried about maxing it out with all in game settings at 1920x1200, Me, all I need is medium with some new upgrades where it's playable and nice.

Kinda like how everyone was freaking out how the gtx295 couldn't max crysis 1 without dropping to 30 fps... cmon now. That's just being unreasonable.

I guess if you guys are the crazy high end computer gamers where having the best to play video games will make you happy, so be it lol.

Crazy how someone can drop 6k on a computer ONLY meant for gaming... but it would be nice to play on I bet hehe.

.
You must be kidding

7600GT is nearly twice as fast as HD4290
http://forum.clubedohardware.com.br/...7600gt/863616?

RSX (which is more powerful than 7600GT) should be much faster than an IGP like HD4290, and xbox GPU is even better than RSX

It's all hype. For him to say a computer hasn't been built to max it is pure marketing. Admit it, at first glance your like 'OMG, this game will be awesome' . No current rig can max it. Stupid comment. I read, and posted in these forums a link, where the lead developer said if you could play bad company 2 you will be able to play BF3. Maxed, no but playable. I get 75 to 110 fps in bad co. The dips are heavy smoke. I have no concerns about playing this game. Most members here at OCN will be fine.

i dont think anyone here is concerned about it being playable. Maxxed out, maybe. They can always push the top higher without effecting the bottom with tessellation and dx11 shaders.

This, i've known lots of people that don't conisder anything under 2560x1600 with 8xFSAA and 16xAF Maxed out. I cansider maxed out any resolution with max settings excluding AA and AF

Judging by the above, sounds like it's going to be a console port just like BFBC2: a total CPU-whore that leaves the GPU to do sweet eff all.

Meh so what. Chronicles of Riddick: AoDA is yet to run at 60fps @ 1600p with 32xMSAA, doesn't mean it's going to make all that much of a worthwhile difference or make it a benchmark. I doubt even the extreme e-peen enthusiasts are going to give a crap if they can run it on a GTX 560 on high settings with around 2x-4xMSAA at 1080p.
Idk about this, There been devs that have stated before the PC was either lead or was being focus on just as much as the consoles (When it comes to multiplatform Games) .... but none have gone as far as to show off a E3 Gameplay with a PC in front of everyone at E3, Not to mention have tons of PC theres to play a multilayer demos on.
