It doesn't really matter. You can still use them in DDR too.

Most ram stick, unless they are incredibly ancient. are the same size. You should be fine.

DDR2 and DDR3 heatsinks are exchangable I was just playing around with that because I was bored 2 days ago

And yeah they are metal to transfer heat from ram modules...

Yeah, they're pretty much universal. I have some ddr2 heat spreaders on some SDR ram.

I wouldn't know. I don't know the first thing about ram. I don't even know what its used for, let alone what timings and DDR3 are. All I know is when I asked 7forums when I was building my PC, they told me to get 2x2GB, so thats what I did

not really you cant take DDR2 ram and slam it into a DDR3 slot because they dont line up the little slits are in different spots
