Need help with Athlon X2 setup

Hello friends.

Im currently using an old olddd dell system I got for Xmas many yeras ago.

It is sporting, AMD X2 3800+ CPU at 2ghz
2GB generic 500mhz ddr2 ram
onboard graphics
stock dell cpu cooler.

I was hoping you guys would be able to recommend a half decent motherboard I could put in this system that would allow me to maybe overclock the cpu? and also allow me room inside the damm layout to put an aftermarket graphics card in...

Any ideas on how much this cpu could be overclocked to?

Many thanks!

I would save and do the full Monte or PM me. I review hardware for another site and I have some motherboards, cpu and heatsinks to set you up. Reasonably priced. Your CPU is vastly outdated.

hmm I know the cpu is outdated, but I just need it to run for now.

I have a generic 330W dell PSU in there..would that be enough to power a gtx 465?

I don't think a generic 330W PSU would be able to run a GTX 465. Get a decent 450W or 550W PSU to make sure you can power up the High End GPU and the overclocked CPU.

Oh and there will probably be some bottlenecking. Your CPU is just too outdated, sorry...
