Why Bethesda, why?

Why did you have to ruin my expectations?

Your rig may be worth $1800 or more right now but your 1 game sale counts as much as the 1 game sale from the guy with a $500 PC and just as much as the guy with a Xbox/Ps3.

I don't get how you think they're turning their backs on their customers just because they won't alienate the masses to pacify that 1.5%.
Ok first of all my rig probably goes for $800 not $1800.
Also, please see my post in the last page. This isn't about graphics, it's about gameplay. They're dumbing it down. Which means they're going to CoD it just like EA did with DA2.

And yes they did make them who they are. Who played TES1? TES2? Need I remind you that Morrowind is one of the hardcore RPGs? The kind that only those 1.5% gamers play. In the days of TES1 and 2 gaming wasn't mainstream, and those 1.5% now, were 100% back then. So if weren't for them, there probably wouldn't have been Oblivion let alone Skyrim.
And how do they repay these customers' loyalty? By telling them they're not relevant anymore.

Just like i end up having to say every time there's a new game coming out.....why don't you just reserve judgment for when the game comes out? SEE the changes in action first before warming up the hyperbole machine.
The problem is that this isn't a first. DA2, C&C4, and so on. All those games before launch were told that they would be "mainstreamed" and look what POS they turned out to be. Why would Skyrim be any different?
Don't get me wrong, I'm reserving judgment until the game comes out, but my hopes are all but up.

I still have alot of respect for Bethesda. They are being upfront about it.

If they want to move to Console for profit margins that's fine, but i like the way they are UPFRONT about it.

Crytek i'm looking at you..

If they weren't going to give you a way *off* obstacles, they should have made it impossible to get *on* them in the first place. The movement system in ME2 is just terrible.

OT: Well, I was going to buy Skyrim after seeing the E3 coverage.. but yeah, I'll wait until it's 5-10 bucks, if I buy it at all.

Bottom line is, they're sacrificing all that made them great, and all that made us love them just for an extra buck. There's a word for that, sellouts.

Who isn't? I hope they don't even attempt to make a Crysis 3.

Once a Game has gone down the Console port path, history has proven that it turns out to be mediocre at best.

No, they cannot fix everything...But they fix most things and improve on the game in ways Bethesda probably wouldn't think of.

And Beth they release a game (Half the time, buggy for people although apart from a bad case of the CTDs in Oblivion, I'm yet to experience) and modders work out where each bug/annoyance is and fix it, it's been true for both the 3D TES so far and both of the 3D FPS/RPG Fallouts.

I personally use LAA with anything on GameBryo and a few other games/programs that are 32bit still, it helped me with Oblivion at least.

Truly enjoy it? Nah, I truly enjoyed Oblivion for around a year.

Then I modded it and just enjoyed it more.
And honestly, I prefer the modders doing it simply because they're working to improve something that they want without any major deadlines, rather than working for a paycheck with a deadline looming up of mid-late October.

Well, sounds like Skyrim is a bargain-bin game, at best... and that I'll be replaying Morrowind. Again.
I think they'll at least polish it as much as Oblivion is, they just develop for their biggest market first and do the rest later.

Exactly, it's not hard to tell that they're going in this direction, I for one actually like the changes as there is less crap to bother with worrying about when I could be playing the game, that's not to say I can't play/don't like the traditional way of doing RPGs (I've got many, many, many hours in Morrowind) but anyone would have to admit it's just easier to sit down and play without all the stats, case in point: Morrowind was boring until you got a few levels under your belt and wasn't as useless as someone without any limbs likely would be in combat.

General bugs though, apparently they're on the Xbox too, so no, that doesn't come from being ported to PC.

Except that's not all that made them great, the feel and lore of TES is still there unless they really screw up, that's what (IMO at least) makes a TES game, not how many stats there are.
