You might be able to get a 3ghz overclock out of that processor, but your power supply would not be able to handle the load. Core2 quads when at that speed and required voltage tend to use ALOT of power, and your PSU is inadequate. I suggest upgrading to a 450W unit minimum, and made by Corsair, Seasonic, or Antec. A new PSU wont be cheap, but it will go a long way in helping things.

With a g41 board I can only get to 3ghz
Because of the fsb cap.

And yes illd get a better psu before over clocking just in case, well even now if ur psu dies it has about a 99% of taking the rest of the computer down with it. If u get a decent brand pus they have protection ect on the pus so has a lot less chance of killing other parts

G41 and high FSB processors really werent meant to mix. it does ALOT better with a 800mhz FSB chip, with the proof being my processor jacked up to a 1333mhz FSB and getting a 3.66ghz overclock out of it.

I don't believe it's that likely that all your components will die if your psu does for a second. There's a chance it could take one component but all of them? Almost certain?...

Yeah right

Yeah right
Depending on the quality of the psu.
Some of the cheap ****ty ones. Don't have or not very good fuses ect or any failsafe. Like a corsair/antec wuld have. So it can kill a gpu... And then take the mobo and other stuff with it. It's happened a few times. Even with good psu,s just not as often. It happens
