Uneven Backlight LG E2370V-BF IPS Monitor: Return or Keep...? - Page 4

post #31 of 39
Exactly. I found it to be a "feature" rather than a con after realizing i didn't have to stare at a back light b eing on my secondary display when full screen gaming on my primary monitor.

i have uneven brightness on my LG LCD but only noticeable at black screens
i would go to far to say as light leakage on the sides but not worth returning because there are no dead pixels on this one

I worry about dead pixels more than un-even back light. I have determined even back lights on these cheaper IPS panels are basically non-existent.

This is a bit off-topic but may I ask you Strobe how do you find the stand? Right now I'm hesitating between Dell U2311H and LG E2370V. Unfortunatelly U2311H is out of stock right now, so I would take E2370V. I know that both panels are good but I heard/read that in LG the stand is badly designed and monitor might be wobbling. Is it really a problem or those opinions are just exagerated?

u2311 is better in all

The stand is really crappy on the LG. I use a dual monitor arm clamped on my desk now and love it. Clears a lot of desk space not having stands under my screens. The LG stand is rounded so you can't set much on it easily and its glossy and scratches so easily. It's also paper thin and weighs nothing. I didn't have an issue with it wobbling though I do have a sturdy desk.

The U2311H is what I had previously and wouldn't go back. I had so many replacements within a 2 month period its just silly. I can't stand monitor hum and the Dell's hummed like crazy. My old Dell 2408 hummed too. No longer have any Dell monitors and their support can't even speak english. Called LG once to verify the VESA pattern on my LG displays and they picked up fast and spoke perfect english. Might have been luck, but better than Dell in that regaurd.

Dell's over all picture quality I think was a little better and more natural looking. I haven't tried to calibrate either except with just using web based things like the Lagom LCD test. If you're not sensitive to monitor hum, go with Dell. I think LG's LED backlight just isn't ready for those who need the color accuracy. I bought these as just an alternative to crap TN panels. I would take this decent IPS over the BEST TN panel.

LG e2370v is good monitor but why there's not any review ?
ips236v seems very good startly and after was a very poor quality monitor, and i dont know how much this monitor is really good.cool.gif Because teorically the image quality og this E series should be less than IPS23xV series of LG.

Thank you again for your answers.

@Strobe
Actually I have a bit simillar situation. I just need to replace my Samsung BX2450 which I liked but had to RMA... and in the meantime I was advised by artist friend to take an IPS panel. So, I guess LG or Dell will be better than my last TN anyway. After all I'm just a programmer and probably won't use full potential of these monitors anyway smile.gif

@Senna
Yes, this is quite unfortunate that there is no reviews. Would be good to see how rewievers compare E2370V against U2311H.
