whats a Good graphics card for i3 2120

Thread Starter
I just got my build together and was looking to purcase something to replace my hd 4650 in the coming weeks.

Whats a good graphics card that will work wonders with this processor?

Also I'm not too keen on GPU's, I know GDDR is the way to go (right?), processing units is new to me, core clock and memory speeds arent something i know to well.

Range: Great budget card some thing around $75-$95.
Or I can go around $120ish, around that figure.

I only have 1 PCIe x16 port.
all specs are current see below.

cheers in advance cool.gif

hmmm
ZOTAC GeForce GTX 460 looks promising.
Id like to achieve something over 60fps.
also my other goal is to upgrade the cpu next year. Will I get performance from this card if I decide to get it?

yes, but that would be a bit out of your price range before rebate. I would take a look at the newegg open box section. There are lots of good cards there, or if you would like, several great deals in the classifieds currently.

cool...
I always look for deals, but this grea. I had no idea this cpu could run excellent with those cards.
It is worth the investment looking at the 6850. Seriously, for once I want to splurge a little and get something great.

Look around for a Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 Xtreme, because it's only around $120. But I think they might all be sold out now. But that would be the best card you could get for the money.

Here's a tip when it comes to shopping for computer parts: Always shop for the performance you want right now. If you want to play demanding games like Crysis at max settings on a 1900x1080 monitor, then by all means, spend $300 on a great card. Don't wait for hardware prices to go down unless you don't mind always playing last year's games.

And your i3 2120 is a great CPU. It won't bottleneck anything except super-high-end video cards.

That was a smoking hot deal while it lasted, but because that's an outdated card it's not likely to come back.
