Awesome maps and excellent community.
I hope they will make something like Special Forces for BF 3 at some moment.

DICE are pretty fair.

Most likely they will release free DLC for pc, and charge us for some sort of Battlefield 2 throwback pack (similar to vietnam+ free DLC)

Sorry, I didn't mean to come off as a flamer or troll there. And that song is definitely one of the worst things on the earth, so sorry for getting that stuck in your head too.

I just get tired of hearing people complain about DLC, especially when it comes to Dice who have shown that they provide smaller content for free and large content (like Viet Nam) for cheap. I spent a total of 15 bucks for 15 maps, new weapons, vehicles, etc with BC2 (this includes all DLC). If I were to buy COD DLC, it would be 30 bucks for 6 maps, 3 of which are re-hashed (and not even updated, just simply plugged in with the same graphics and layout), and a couple of weapons. Not to mention the 60 bucks for a complete re-skin of the previous game.

Dice, even under EA, has provided people with great DLC.

There were 2. At least 2 map packs. At least I think so.

I want another WW2 battlefield. Imagine with frostbite 2... Band of Brothers will come to live. So a WW2 DLC would be much appreciated.

I don't get why people defend BF3 on this. I for one feel like BC2: Vietnam was a complete scam and I even got it on sale. You want to complain about reskinning a game, that's what Vietnam was.

vietnam was for $15 4 maps, all new weapons, vehicles, and the maps were entirely new in terms of buildings with destruction and textures. It was the equivalent to all previous booster packs release for other battlefield games.

Nothing new here, but you might not know that considering your attitude.

COD map packs are how much and are a combo of new maps, and old recycled maps. ANd the combined size of those maps equal the size of 1 of bad company 2's maps. No new weapons, textures, vehicles either.

I am fine with DLCs, but how far is it going to go? I am almost starting to think Activision's crazy idea of a subscription might be cheaper than buying all the DLCs individually if there gets to be a lot of DLCs for a game. Though that is assuming I would actually want all the DLCs.

But if they release 1 DLC a month and you buy it for $10 each month...how is that different from a subscription? (Though I don't think we are looking at that many DLCs yet, but I think it is coming)

And how do you know? Has Dice said "DLC will cost you $10"??? No. As with their previous games, most of the content will be free, and there will be 2-3 actual expansions that cost money.

But...they just said it will have three times as many DLCs as BC2 and it supposedly had 7. You have to pay $7-$15 for them all, right?

If it is a free DLC than it isn't a DLC...we call those "updates" or "patches" in the world of video games, but I guess the term DLC may have evolved to cover any game content that you download. If they are talking about just game updates and stuff then this is very good news.

If BF3 has 21 DLCs that all cost $5-$15 then it could very likely cost more than a $10 monthly sub to get them all. EA hasn't given a price for them, but they haven't said they would be free yet either. If they are free I think that they would be screaming it from the tops of buildings. The word free is the most eye catching word in the English language. Though if there like some of the ones in BC2 where you can just pay to unlock weapons and such rather than getting points while playing...I don't want them.
