No. It doesn't. I dunno if you need to attend the Zoolander for Children Who Can't Read Good, but it's been stated many times that Back to Karkand was not even in the initial plans and was just recently started by a completely separate development team.

I don't agree with charging for the small DLC that is being pushed out these days. Full expansion games I will gladly pay for. As long as it comes with more single player, it's okay in my books - for the most part.

Paying for just a couple maps and maybe a new gun or two is ridiculous in my opinion.

I am getting extremely sick of the people complaining about something that has been common practice for DICE for several games now. Does was doing this 5 years ago, nothing new here. They are making the game worth the investment, just like before.

No Vanilla BC2 is just fine. I think more people play the base game then Vietnam still.
Vietnam has a very small amount of servers in comparison to BC2.

EA is a PUBLISHER not the DEVELOPER of this game. Dice makes battlefield, crytek makes Crysis they are not one in the same, only their publisher is the same and that does not magically impact the whole performance of the game only minor things.

Check yo facts, bro. If you're too lazy to click on the link, here's the first sentence:

EA Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment AB (EA DICE, or just DICE) is a Swedish video game developer, wholly owned by Electronic Arts, best known for the Battlefield video game series and Mirror's Edge.
I'll let you chew on that for a bit.

I hate the hypocrisy on this forum. People hated DAII because it had release day DLC, the same model as BF3. When I came into this topic, I expected to see the same sort of hate, but instead all I see is "well, it'll be good. shut up and take my money. it's DICE we're talking about." News flash people, EA owns DICE and BioWare.

Here is the difference. EA is still trying to be #1 in FPS with Dice, so they get the chance to create awesome games.

EA is already #1 in RPGs with bioware, now they just want to make more money by broadening(IE dumbing down) the appeal of their games, along with milking with minor DLCs. They are pulling an activision with their RPG products because they can.

At some point, they will begin to do that with DICE and the battlefield series, i dont doubt that. But currently, EA is more than happy with with letting DICE create the game they want.

The release day DLC is kind of bull, but not much we can do about that, it only costs more if you dont preorder, just like the other bioware releases.

Think of it like this.

A company called tripwire interactive is releasing Red orchestra 2 this year, at the same time, they collected the best modders in the red orchestra community and teamed them together to create DLC for the launch of the game, an entirely new front for the game called rising storm. If its good enough in quality, it will be launched for sale for the game, otherwise it will be provided for free.

How can i complain about that, when EA did the same thing and assigned a team to create 4 old maps and design guns/vehicles/assets for a mini expansion.

That is EXACTLY what they're going to do. If they're already talking about tons of DLC for an unreleased game, expect it to be a slightly larger than a mini-campaign, and paying $5 for some re-textured weapons and $15+ for more mini-campaigns.

no, that is not what it means. Not even close.

They practically announced the Witcher 2 expansion before the witcher 2 was released, does that mean they cut it? no it doesnt.

The fact is that just as much planning needs to go into the design and production of DLC as it does for the game itself. They need a team, they need a production roadmap, and they need to have ideas.

A game is practically wrapped up months before launch, where content has been finalized and then its on to polishing, and bug fixing, and everything that gets the game ready for launch. What are guys who model guns, buildings, etc suppose to do during that time. Guess what, If there is a roadmap for DLC in place, those guys can go straight into making the maps and the guns, and vehicles for it.

sweet, i can't wait, im glad they moved it up too, i'll gladly pay for BF3's DLC's, im sick of the **** we get from Call of Duty. 3 maps and 2 remakes? 4 maps and a "new zombie experience"? please... give us a completely new experience, how about a new settings such as going from Modern Warfare to Vietnam. Battlefield's work is worth so much more then Call of Duties.

I heard some where that Activision and Call of Duty "want to get the lost PC players by including MatchMaking peer to peer for the people that don't care, and dedicated servers for the ones that do" When i heard that all i could think of is, "i'd rather be part of the crowd that hasn't been lost at all, BATTLEFIELD!"

Not complaining about DICE, simply stating that I am not a fan of the practice in general, no matter what company does it.

Also, I never purchased those "booster packs". They eventually became free.
