Moving from Android to iPhone

Thread Starter
So I sold my Galaxy S captivate to get some much needed cash a little bit ago. Have now the money to buy new phone and the cheapest one out of the group was iPhone 4. Going from Android to Apple how much am I gonna miss?

Not alot .

The only thing you gain on a Android device is more customization.

You might actually find the user experience to be better and it should be smoother than your Galaxy S.

i have an infuse, came from an iphone4. i dont miss anything. i jailbroke it and raped the hell out of it with cydia crap. it was slow because of it. loading apps, my wife's 3gs was as fast if not faster than my 4.

it seems every tweak to the os that apple makes, is to add a feature thats already on android or is available via cydia. everything the iphone does is very refined because of their tight hold on everything they want to allow you to do with the phone, but i love my infuse and will never go back.

personally, i think the iOS and android UI both suck. just so happens that the android platform has an awesome launcher that mimics the metro ui of the wp7, which is beautiful. the ONLY reason im not holding a wp7 device is because of their lack of 3rd party app support.

Somewhat comfrorting.

I always dogged on Apple because of the overpriced crap they put out but 200 bucks was a steal compared to any good Android phone. The Galaxy S was 400, the same with infuse and other large display phones. No way I was gonna pay that much, I was shocked that the typical Apple was not overpriced. Hopefully the Apps have got better since I was on the iPhone 3.

iPhone 4 fast though? does anyone know if its snappy?

on a contract renewal the s or infuse cost $400?

and if you leave the phone basically stock, its fairly snappy. although once you start adding stuff to the os through cydia, it will slow down noticeably. and from experience, my infuse opens all apps faster. a friend of mine at work has always been pro-iphone. i showed him how fast the camera app opened and that was all it took.

i have played with a few other android phones, and most of them were quite unimpressive. one thing i always noticed was the lack of smoothness using the browser, especially when compared to the iphone. but the infuse is smooth all around. i have yet to find something i didnt like about it.

It's an excellent phone; it does everything in a no nonsense sort of manner (except notifications, they're awful, but this will change with iOS 5).
You won't have to tinker with it at all to get it up and running which is nice and everything is easily accessible.

Depends on said Galaxy S. Stock with TouchWiz? Kinda a so-so situation. Rooted and with Darky's Mod? Hell yeah.
