Budget gaming/OC build

Thread Starter
Hey, I'm doing a half system upgrade and would like to know if this is a good build or if I could do better somewhere for the same price or less.

Motherboard
CPU
Case
Ram

For those who can't click the links they are

Asus M4A79XTD EVO
Phenom II 955 BE
Coolermaster HAF 912
CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 1600MHZ

I already have the rest of the components to make a computer run maybe not that well but it should suffice until I can afford to get a new GPU, CPU heatsink, and SSD HDD.

Thanks for any input.

I cant see your old rig atm, because im on my iphone. 2 questions:
Are you sure of AMD?
Why dont you wait until bulldozer, buy that, or buy the phenom which should drop in price i suppose..

I'm going with a low-mid range build because I will be upgrading in october when BF3 comes out. (If I need too...) but until then I want to be able to play games that are out now as well. And my old athlon x2 5000+ isn't letting me do that despite it being OC'ed to 3.2GHZ
I have a limit of $350 right now so yeah AMD since I can get a MOBO for under $100 without having to go Micro ATX.

I'm going to be adding when I get a job.
6970 crossfire
a better CPU Heatsink
and an SSD + raptor for my games.

Forgot to mention the urgency of needing the computer is also because of my current MOBO. I think my overclock fried it a little because no matter what I set in the bios it doesn't change the CPU clock anymore and what I had before this happened wasn't totally stable so I can't stop the random "STOP" BSOD's by tweaking it anymore.

Everything looks good, but I find the

is a case with better value. You can get a better deal on the board http://www.nextwarehouse.com/item/?855189_p3g ($96 shipped, and the rebate on Newegg should still be valid I think as it works on any site)

Thanks, I like Nzxt but some of their low priced cases just look cheap. I will probably be reusing the case for my future builds and with the 912 I can replace the front fan with a 200mm one and add one to the top.

Yeah I'm just going to wait until BF3 comes out and if this computer that I'm building now cannot run it with crossfire 6970's then I will buy what ever the best cpu is at that time whether that be bulldozer x4 or i5 2500k.
I'm going to be very surprised if the xfired 6970's don't absolutely kill BF3 though.

Finally got all the parts in yesterday and put them together last night and it's an unbelievable upgrade from my old rig.
with an ATI 5670 the upgrade from my old 5000+ 3.2GHZ to my new 955BE @ stock (Haven't got my AS Thermal in the mail yet so running the stock fan) it added 40+ FPS to BBC2 with the same card in both systems.
