Super meat boy.

I suppose it may be hard without a controller, but people manage with a keyboard just fine.

Braid is a lot of fun. Definitely worth looking into if you haven't played it before. Doesnt need a mouse either so it's good for laptops.

The Sims 1 is amazing. I've wasted countless weeks on that game. That said, after doing absolutely everything the charm does wear off and I can only play for a week or two when I pick it up again.

Another game I've spent weeks on is Rise of Nations. It's like Risk, but you play the battles. Very enjoyable game. And each "mission" or "game" takes 45-60 minutes for me, so you're investing quite a few hours per "campaign".

What I usually do to kill time is play Solitaire, Hearts or Hold 'Em. Hearts is my game of choice just recently. I just learned how to play so trying to master it was both infuriating, time-consuming and fun.

I can't believe I didn't mention Mine Craft. You should get that for SURE. It will waste WEEKS of your time!

Ha I'm noticing. It's really fun. Right now on Singleplayer I'm just trying to create a really cool house. After that, I'll go out and dig everywhere looking for materials. I'll stock up on everything, then probably get bored, and play multiplayer

I played The Sims 1 on PS2 when I was younger, loved it. The PC version doesn't seem as fun (it's quite different) and I'm bored with the low number of items, and there not being any objectives.

I played Rise of Nations a year ago or so. Played it a lot, had a lot of fun. But now bored with it.

Take a look at SpaceChem. It's my current time-waster on my laptop.
