Make sure it's set in the boot priority. Also do you have an operating system installed on it? If your transferring this from another rig with another chipset, you may have to reinstall the OS for it to work.

Its in port 0. the first thing to boot is the hard drive. if the bio's recognized that its there does that mean its not broken?

if i just built this and it has no drivers for anything installed would that be a problem? i dont think it would cause it isnt for a laptop, but im not sure

I was gunna do that a few hours ago in a external hard drive case but im pretty sure i threw away the power cord and usb connector for that on accident... i thought the cables and stuff where in my closet. :\\ and i have no desktop. besides this one. i did try putting my other broken hard drive in it and it gave me the same message.

Its your only hard drive and its brand new?? How do you plan to use it without an Operating System? Get a disk or something and get an OS on it.

If it's not recognizing in the BIOS, how is he suppose to install an OS? Lol

His first post is a bit misleading or i have brain damage from heat.. First part of sentence he says BIOS doesnt recognize, at the end he says BIOS recognizes the HDD... So i took option 2 >_>
