First OC, 2600K Questions about voltages

Thread Starter
hey OC'ers!

Im new to OC'ing, and im going to buy the system in my signature. The idea is to OC the proc to 4.5 Ghz. i know that OC'ing with the ASUS Maximus is relatively easy. however im kinda worried that i screw up with the voltages.

i have found this post on this forum:

http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/...-i7-2600k.html

Here it states that someone got a 2600K running on 4.6 Ghz with a voltage of V 1.325. Is there any way i can confirm that i can use this voltage to run my CPU on 4.5 Ghz. I do not wanna fry my CPU since that would be a waste of money .

Do you guys also advise me to OC the CPU step by step (for example 0.2 Ghz each time) or to whip it up in one time in this configuration. im sure i will run into problems that way because at some point, the voltage will be too low, and i dont know with how much i should increase it.

I hope you guys can shine a light on this. Thanks in advance.

Steven van Rosendaal.

Keep going up in until it get's unstable, then keep adding volts until it is.

This should be all you need. It was all i really needed to get started, and get a good OC.

You may want to take a look at this club as well, and ask some questions there. Of course, you should join first.
