Yea... refer to above. He can get at least 3.8GHz out of that thing just by increasing the max turbo multiplier and turning speedstep off (if he so chooses, so that he may see the overclock 24/7).

3.468 GHz or 3.876 Ghz (for multi = 38), whichever... the point is that raising base clock doesnt do much

also, turning speedstep off is dumb for such a low overclock, it does nothing but NOT save energy when the computer is ilding

Playing with the FSB on a non-K sandy bridge is pretty dodgy, unless the board generates its' own PCI clocks. If the board doesn't do that, you start increasing clocks on things that really don't like it, like the PCI-e bus, and hard drives.
Intel did this to stop people clocking the non-K series chips, it's a deliberate thing, and we all know it sucks.
