I haven't been contacted by Citi, thankfully my information wasn't compromised. As another post said, all of this hacking is getting old and annoying.

If I'm lucky the hackers stole my student loans and will pay them off for me!

I'm a former employee of SOE and it was basically, "OMG we were just hacked, they MIGHT have stolen your information".

Turns out they did...In fact, I now know of 6 different people with my SSN#.

It was also publically anounced rather oddly...In some cases immediately and the only investigation done, was their own. Not one by the FBI, not one by a hired company, their own.

At least the bank did an official investigation and went forward from there...

As a former employee, how would you have any knowledge of what type of internal investigations were done/are being done? I guarantee you know only pieces of the bigger picture here.

You can believe whatever you choose to believe.

SOE's investigation was not nearly on par nor up to the par it should've been; Citibanks, was.

I'd much rather know immediately that my information might have been stolen...

They did it this way to draw as little attention as possible, and at the expense of their customer's safety and financial well being. Nice.

I'll believe what I have enough information to believe. If you can provide tengible proof of this, I'll be happy to concur. But having inside information on an investigation this sensitive, while not working for that company is quite doubtful. And you sure as heck down know what happened as part of Citi Banks investigation. You are purely speculating.
