Getting rid of my i7 970 today... Where to go from here?

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

I'm selling my 970 today for $450, I was planning on just getting another 9*0 cpu for ~200 and upgrading my case to a 650D.

Should I stick with 1366 or go SB?

1366 is still more then capable of doing anything that you can throw at it. get a 920 and OC it to about 4Ghz and it will do wonders. You dont HAVE to go SB yet...its more of a matter of you WANTING to make the jump.

I should note I've already had an 1155 build (p8 pro & 2500k), I ended up returning the mobo when the CP issue arised, and ended up just selling the CPU.

I'm leaning towards SB, but I literally just bought this $300 board 2-3 months ago.

It is a great CPU, I just dont need 6 cores for gaming alone, and a quad i7 will provide enough power for my 470's.

However, I must agree, they do run very cool.

Was just about to ask how your Ven-X holds up with it.

Still undecided on what to do.

If I do go 1155, which board should I get?

And how much could I get for my Formula?

I suppose 200~250 for the board IF its in like new condition, 150~200 for the CPU IF it OC's well.
