Still undecided on what to do.

If I do go 1155, which board should I get?

And how much could I get for my Formula?
I would say an asus board like the p8p67 pro, But tbh they are all good it is down to personal preference and what features you need

quick question to the op what exactly is your purpose of the system?
if gaming ditch the 1366 and grab a sandybridge, seeing as i own a 970 and a 2600k i can honestly say the 2600k does just as well as the 970 with lower power consumption.

It'll be used for gaming only.

I only bought the 970 at the time because I got a good deal and wanted to play around with a 6-Core 32nm.

No point in going SB at the moment. You'd be hard pressed to tell a real world difference between a well overclocked 920 and a 2500k. Neither will bottleneck your cards.

However, you see like a bit of an impulsive upgrader, and this means Ivy Bridge may be of interest to you. If that's the case, you may want to go SB to have the possibility of upgrade in the future.

Do you mean the 980x that was a misprint then? As to go to SB, It is a bit cheaper and you could get it. Or just wait until the ivy bridges comes out. It just depends on how and if you can move the 1366 socket though. Good luck and hope you can sell it all in the forums.

Why would ge get a 980 when he already said he's selling the 970 because he doesn't need 6 cores?

Ivy Bridge, it's Intel's next generation of processors. They will use socket 1155, same as current SB.

No sorry, I put the asterik to imply any of the i7 9 series, however I should have been more specific as I already own a 970 lol
