Considering the Lenovo X220 Tablet...

Thread Starter
So I'm thinking about getting the Lenovo X220 Tablet. Convertible laptop/tablets have always caught my eye because of their duality. This is an expensive one, but I would hope it's well worth it. The stylus feature is what makes this one stand above the rest... especially when it comes to my drawing and design.

What does OCN think of this tablet?

Here's the URL to the specs (in .pdf): http://shop.lenovo.com/us/ww/pdf/x22..._datasheet.pdf

It's a damn nice tablet! My brother got one, and it is perfect for note taking, and the batterylife is amazing and he once stood on his to proof the durability to a mac guy if you got the money, I would say go for it, you wont regret it!

My mom has one. She got an i7 in it (for reasons unclear to me) and she hasn't had any problems with it. She only uses it for internet browsing and typing word documents and very rarely uses it as a tablet. I've messed around with it as a tablet and it is very cool. And I don't know if other tablets have this, but you can right click with the stylus. I guess that's what you meant when you talked about the stylus feature.

Also I think that the extra length battery is ugly. But that's just me.

I find the whole Lenovo business-design attractive... I appreciate that practical looks. Right now I'm just trying to find a reason not to go for it. Haha It's a substantial sum of money, and I already have a laptop. I've heard only good things about this tablet, for the most part.

My friend has one and uses it for wireless site surveys. They are the best tablet PC you can buy. Well worth the money.

A Hell of a lot better than the HP my company bought me.

12.5" Gorilla Glass IPS screen with a digitizer? Absolutely.

Wait for it to go on sale though. Lenovo always has some kind of coupon code going. If you wait for the right time you can get 20-25% off.

Hmm... bad things...

It will probably feel quite cheap. The plastic shell might flex and creek a little, but its still well built.

The warranty is short, and extending it gets expensive, but the plus side is that if anything does go wrong you can get it repaired locally at no cost.

The speakers in my T400 came loose, but rather than mailing it to Lenovo I just stopped by my University, since they had a warranty service provider. All I had to do was give the guy my contact info, he checked the serial # to make sure it was still under warranty, and I picked it up two days later, fully repaired.

In all the reviews, they say there is little flex in the build, aside from some slight flex in the keyboard. I wonder if my university is that convenient... Anyways, I'm in no rush to purchase this thing... if I even buy it. I kinda just want a new toy with some practical use. This Lenovo X220T has my eye, but so does the Asus EEE pad transformer.
