wow that is an awesome deal! I wonder how it stacks up to the x120e.
Im going to buy one and may go with this? same specs except the 1.3 camera on the acer.

Any input? Also the 15" is very pleasing.

Dm1z is said to be better than the z120e so I'm pretty sure that this notebook will stack up slightly better than the x120e

Why do all of you prefer the dm1z to the x120e? The internals are nearly identical but the dm1z has worse build quality for $30 less. I'd rather have one x120e to last me 5 years than have to replace the dm1z every year or two. The Acer is ridiculous - such a weak processor on a 15.6" screen is horrible, AMD Fusion is meant to be a platform for portability.
So:
Acer < HP dm1z < Lenovo x120e

It all depends what market you are in. You can't get a good 15.6" laptop for <$300. The Acer is by no means good. This Lenovo cost me $480 including California tax and will not break any time soon. I've used the dm1z and it is fat and a figner print magnet and has a crappy navigation system and the screen is horrible with crappy colors and viewing angles.

No problem, it may sound like I just hate HP but I have owned several HP products only to find the build quality still worse than a ThinkPad from 2001 that still runs WinXP without any failures save a hard drive that I screwed up. You will not regret investing in the x120e.

It only has 2 RAM slots... Mine comes with 4GB (2x2) and remember it is limited at 1066MHz so no point in ordering any faster than that. It has two slots.

The 6-cell doesn't add much weight and looks pretty good. The 3 cell has pathetic battery life, I've heard 2 hours browsing. $400 is a good price for 4 gigs of ram - student discount? what coupon code?

Actually got it from e-bay, reason for price was refurb. Spoke with the seller though and all is well. Still has warranty and such.

With what you said ill prob just order the 6 cell right now then.
