I remember this. But of course it was a very rare occurrence. The D-14 and SA are very similar in performance and to be honest grab whichever is cheaper unless you just like ones color scheme over the other, but yes, they are worth it.

No idea what the guys concave base issue was, i think he lapped his CPU and his D14 couldn't make contact.
Now that is a more likely issue and that is a pebkac issue. But OP get what fits the budget/case/Ram.
