Yes, updating the BIOS (especially if yours shipped with a very old version) typically helps as they iron out little bugs that don't always make it to the change logs.

They accept returns because it's the law, you'll have to pay shipping though.

You could update the bios. Don't use the file i linked though, that's for an asus not an Asrock.

Hi AAAthreat,
I have the same problem with yours.
Make sure that you have an adequate PSU and then go to BIOS and go to CPU configuration, then turn off all the C-states there. That's how I fixed it. Hope it helps.

Same issues here, pretty much same setup.
Core i5 2500k, Asrock P67 pro, Coolermaster 212+ cpu cooler, 4gb Gskill RipjawsX, Corsair CX600 V2 P/Supply, HD 6850 vid card.
All parts bought new 1 month ago...
All my temps are fantastic, peak at 60c when gaming or prime95, in the mid 20's when browsing at 4.0ghz before it reboots...

Works fine at stock speeds, will randomly reboot when put to 4.0Ghz or above, Ive only noticed the reboots when web browsing, seems fine when gaming?
Updated to latest P1.80 bios, tried all the above advice, eg C states disabled, voltage to 1.35, spread spectrum disabled etc, checked and re-seated cpu cooler, all no good this is driving me nuts...
EDIT: BTW windows system reports critical error event id 41 kernel-power when this happens.

Heres some pics with temp readings at stock 3.3Ghz and running prime95 blend test at 4.0Ghz..
Stock 3.3Ghz:

4.0Ghz:

Ive also ran memtest86 with no error reported...

Hi filthy, there is another way to fix it, use fixed voltage instead of offset voltage.
Hope it helps.

You might have a faulty board. I switched my board from a MSI P8Z68A-GD65 to an Asus, and I got 4.4 at 1.26vcore. I used to get 1.38v on my MSI. Motherboards do affect stability.

This. Have you tried it with fixed voltage?
Idle BSOD won't happen at all in fixed voltage adn you can turn on all the power saving feature with it no problem.
I'm only using fixed voltage and works perfectly.
Nothing wrong with having fixed voltage into cpu 24/7.
