[TPU] Asus ROG matrix GTX 580 review - Page 4

i want 4 slot cooler. seriously, what is the idea of creating bigger and hotter chips? i know that this is highend without any kind of compromises but its getting annoying. you cannot even sli this monster (not to mention 3 way...) on almost all boards.

72° for a 3 slot cooler? That can't be right, thats not good at all. If you are giving up that 3rd slot you need a reason.

^^^ this. My fans never even hit half speed with everything maxed out during gaming. Now my loudest fan is the PSU. Also, i'd never get the card if i didn't have a huge case/board. But if you have the luxury, might as well enjoy the quietness (considering the pricing of the card). drunken.gif

Watercooled should.

A 3-slot cooler is ridiculous though.

I have two of those biggrin.gif

And they are very quiet. The DCII may be quieter but I can't hear my TFIII cooler when my ear is 3 inches away.

Edit: Didn't realize it had been 2 days since the last post.
