What is your maximum budget?
I don't have one firmly in mind, but I think $750 for an absolute max.

What country are you in?
United States of America

What will be the uses of this laptop?
Word processing, web browsing, maybe some usage of Maple/Mathematica/etc. Intended to be used for office-type stuff, with my gaming handled by a desktop.

Do you have brand loyalty or care which brands we select for you?
No particular brand loyalty

What screen size do you require?
No particular requirement, maybe say 14"?

What screen resolution do you require?
No particular requirement, maybe 1600x900 but less than that wouldn't be a dealbreaker

Are you looking to buy NEW or would refurbished/recertified/used be okay?
Looking to buy new

How long should the battery last? (Under optimal conditions, no movies/games/heavy internet)
Can I shoot for five hours? I don't know what a really reasonable expectation is.

What games would you like to play with your laptop? And on what settings?
I don't have any intention of playing games on this laptop.

What operating system do you need? (if any)
I'd prefer Windows 7, since I'm familiar with it with desktops.

Is there a certain style of laptop you want? (aluminum, black, gaming, etc.)
No.

How much hard drive space do you need?
At the moment, I don't know of any significant demands on the hard drive. 300GB would probably be fine. I have an external hard drive that I can use if I really need storage space.

Do you need any special hardware? (blue ray, webcam, specialty ports, etc.)
No, I don't think so.

Is there anything else we need to know?
Unless the information I've posted is insufficient, I don't think so.
