HD 5770 for BF3

Thread Starter
How well do you guys think my HD 5770 do in BF3? apparently it was leaked somewhere that it was the recommended graphics card for the BF3 system requirements. For BC2 the recommended was HD 4870, and my HD 5770 runs it maxed out (without HBAO or Vsync) at 70 FPS. So do you guys think it will be the same? Let me know what you guys think. Thanks smile.gif

Since it's not out yet and there's no way to benchmark with it, and someone from DICE isn't here...I don't think you'll get any real answer. All the tech demos used GTX580s though.

I'm trying to figure out which card to get now. I'm looking at the 560, 570 or 6950. Decisions, decisions..

HD 5770 probably will run the game at medium settings, no AA, 1650x1080 just fine. I doubt high at anything more then 35fps, and I say hell no to maxing it out.

Sorry, I don't have an answer, but I was wondering how your 5770 gets 70 FPS in BC2? I only get 45 FPS with the same settings. Maybe my CPU is a bottleneck...it shouldn't be though. Is your card over-clocked?

I get around the same frame rate as you. ^ 45ish

No, I have Core i5 760 2.8 GHz (Quad) and a HD 5770 1GB (stock settings) with 4GB of RAM. I run it on DX11 at 1920X1080 with max everything except for no vsync or hbao @ 70 FPS, with Vsync on then it's like 45-50 FPS. With HBAO+Vysnc on it's like 30 FPS (which in my opinion is unplayable.). Yeah... my FOV is set to 80.

Yea so my processor should be faster than yours (3.5 vs. 2.8), I have 4 gigs of memory as well, and I play at the same resolution. I'm pretty sure I don't have Vsync on. Is that an average FPS overall or an FPS you got while looking at a wall? lol

It's average FPS when I'm in a firefight... usually owning with the M416. Except when someone fires a CG (whatanub) in front of me it drops a lot, but I guess that's normal right?

No. i5's are faster than Core 2 Quads. Clock speed makes little to no difference.

whats a CG?

Anyway don't expect to even max out the game, you can only get about medium settings without noticing the game freezing. Remember BF3 will have a more intensive engine, HD textures everywhere, more destructibility ans so on. Later down the road if you want to actually max it out, I would suggest a 570 or a 580. smile.gif
