[Chiphell]Bulldozer Sample Benchmark Leaks - Page 12

*sigh* This is a ES....I stopped reading there.

We already knew from the mobo makers that the ES chips performed poorly so this is hardly news. Unlike Sandy Bridge which was "tock", AMD's bulldozer is completely new so maybe they decided to really hold back with the ES chips.

AMD didn't spend 5 years developing a CPU slower than Phenom II and would not have revived "FX" to market such a slow processor.

Call me if the final silicon performs like crap.

this. it just isnt going to happen. amd isnt going to release something that is worse than phenom II and call it FX. that would be a huge hit to them.

The fact that AMD isnt saying much and that they delayed the release tells me something isnt right with bulldozer.

An ES is basically a sample for a finished product. Sure, final products may have some improvements, but they are never a complete overhaul (which, at this point, seems that is what BD really needs.)

But of course, BD won't be as slow as these scores show.

It just can't be.
If the ES had inherent problems or bugs, then expecting major increases when the newer stepping/fixed chips arrives isn't unreasonable.

These results are too bad to be true.... it's slower than a 1055T @ the same speeds.

Alright! This actually looks like it could be real, bout time. Guess we can finally start to get excited about Bulldozer. Just cant wait to see some benchies from the real deal.
Anyone that believes they will release a chip, that is half a decade or more in the making, that will not outperform their current offerings or even beat it by at least 15-20% per core, is off their rocker. No way they are going to release one that will not even beat the first gen i7's. They are going to match SB or surpass or not release at all imo(or very very close to SB at minimum).

How can you be excited about the results in those benchmarks?
