I'm sticking by what I said earlier too...those that had Gulftowns and Westmeres can attest that Windows did not always detect the full capability of the chip correctly. Heck, even some Nehalems had their cores cut by Windows in some occasions. If this happens with finalized retail chips imagine what can happen with ES chips that are not production ready anyway.

Edit: Am I like the only reasonable Intel person here? I guess there are a few of us only...overall why don't we just sit and wait until BD is out. I also want some sweet NF200 equipped boards for running more than two full X16 PCI-E devices and we'll be game
QFT + rep.

rep too tpi2007. I feel so bad for missing this crowning post of awesome.

I have a feeling there is a very good reason why AMD is not generally commenting on all these "benchmarks" that are being released. It's either the fact that the "benchmarks" are for the most part accurate and AMD is tweaking things for the later revisions to bump the performance, OR they know they have a killer product and are patiently waiting to make everyone eat their words (because the current "benchmarks" are fake).

In all reality, before we know which of the scenarios will become the final outcome, we still have to wait for a retail release of the product and something more credible than some Chinese websites posting "benchmarks".

We already knew from the mobo makers that the ES chips performed poorly so this is hardly news. Unlike Sandy Bridge which was "tock", AMD's bulldozer is completely new so maybe they decided to really hold back with the ES chips.

AMD didn't spend 5 years developing a CPU slower than Phenom II and would not have revived "FX" to market such a slow processor.

Call me if the final silicon performs like crap.
SB is a new architecture aswell.

Going from past reviews that "chinese" website was spot on about sandybridge and other reviews, I also think this is a legit review but of an early faulty cpu

The truth is if amd had released a proper working bulldozer a few months ago or when sandybridge was released they would be in a much better position right now.

Not only are they now miles behind intel but it is getting closer and closer to ivy bridge and sb-e release so what the hell are amd playing at?? Every day amd fans are switching over to buy sandybridge because they are getting tired of waiting and waiting. i hope bulldozer is great and i also hope amd have a counter strike plan in place for when ivy is released and amd release a competitor at the same time not 8 months later, or amd is finished I hate seeing the gap get further and further apart, what kind of market share are amd even aiming for?

I've not known either AMD or Intel to comment on leaked benchmarks (rumors) in the past. I don't see why now would be any different.

SB's arch is about as new as nehalem. Nothing more, nothing less. Some tweaking here, and some milking there. You have SB with a new socket.

Um, Nehalem was very new. First time Intel used an IMC. First time Intel integrated the north bridge directly on die.

Sandy B is just as "new." It's not a die shrunk Nehalem. It's a completely new microarch. It's not simple tweaking.

You don't understand what you're talking about if you think Nehalem was simply a tweaked Yorkfield, or that Sandy B is simply a tweaked Lynnfield.
