3D Design/Rendering/Gaming

Hi guys I'm new here later I'll introduce myself but I need an answer kinda pronto because I'm about to order the parts.

I'm building this PC:
Phenom II x6 1090T
Asus M4A89GTD PRO\\USB3
Sapphire Radeon HD6970 2Gb
4 Gb DDR3 G.Skill Ripjaws X
Corsair HX650w PSU.

I know the x6 will perform on rendering but will it suck so much in gaming compared to Intel's or it won't make noticeable difference because of the 6970.

I can't wait for Bulldozer because what is 1-2 months for you guys, here in south america will be 5-6 and another 5-6 till I see I good price so I know the MB I picked will have AM3+ CPU support with a Bios update.

Can you guys suggest me something on the same price case I'll suck too much in gaming? Is the 6970 overkill for 1080p?
I'm planning to play all latest blockbusters like BF3 and Skyrim.

I work with 3ds Max and SolidWorks case you need to know which software will take advantage.

I could go with the i7 2600 but I would have to pick a cheaper GPU like a GTX 560ti but I think the performance in gaming will be a lot lower from HD6970 to GTX560ti then from i7 2600 to Phenom II x6.

Thanks for your time. Sorry if my english is rusty

i think you will be alright for gaming. most cores ive seen a game use are 4. i also have a hexa-core cpu and its great for rendering!

As far as I know your CPU is the BEST for rendering haha. Very away from my budget though.
Yeah I heard people comment on how Sandy would pwn the x6's in gaming but for me the GPU is always the bottleneck for a great CPU so it won't make that much of a difference.

Anyone else can back that up so I can feel safe
