Obsolete bracket, which cooler to get?

Thread Starter
I just ordered myself a Intel i5 2500K setup and now I'm worried I won't be able to run my Xigmatek Achilles on it. I only have AM3 bracket and Intel LGA775 bracket. It has done good job cooling my CPU for the last three years What cooler should I get for the 2500K?

I've already ordered the setup so I could still modify the purchase, link to the coolers available.

Normally I would just read thousands of reviews but now I really don't have the time for that so I'm asking for your help, thanks

Edit: Oh and I have fans already so a bare heatsink would do the trick also. And price limit around 60€. Don't want to go spending too much money, as long as I get a silent computer with decent overclock I'm happy for the time being

from the site you linked.
I can't copy the link but this cooler is the best bang for buck.
You will still hit 4.20Ghz+ on it easy

What RAM did you order?
Hyper 212+ is the best price/performance cooler, Silver Arrow is the king of air cooling but it doesn't play too well with tall RAM.

I have read that the Hyper 212 is a great cooler but I'm still willing to go a bit higher on the price Thanks for the suggestion though

This cooler. The silver arrow performs ass good as/out performs Noctua's D14 which is considered one of the best you can get.

That thing is enermous I'm just wondering if it will fit in my Antec Sonata III

Corsair Vengeance is a no go with Silver Arrow. You can either go for Venomous X or Megahalems, or go for wannabe watercooling Antec Kuhler H20 but these might be out of your price range.

Edit: Just looked up your case, Antec Sonata III seems to have only one fan placement spot? That must be some horrible airflow... I'd grab the cheapo Hyper 212+ and put rest of money towards new case funds.

I could do Antec Kuhler H20 620 easily. I have two of these lying around so push/pull would be doable. Also I've modded the case, there's one 120mm intake at the bottom. I agree, it had a terrible airflow before that little mod I did

I'd cut out another hole on top of your case to supply the CPU with fresh air and you might be good to go.

I honestly don't know how good Kuhler H20 620 is, last time I checked these units were a slightly better version of Corsair H50 but not by much as far as I can remember, and Corsair H50 while not bad, is far from top notch.

Check a couple of H20 620 reviews to see if it's your cup of tea, it might be just perfect for you.
