Looking for some nice headphones for 90 dollars or so.

Went to a friend's house and listened to his HD280s and realized what I'd been missing with my 20 dollar PC speakers >_>

Something over-ear is preferable. Comfort is a priority, huge amounts of bass potential isn't necessary.

Pass on the AD700s. They're worse than $34 JVC RX700s while costing three times as much. Not that you should get RX700s. Just don't get AD700s.

really? a lot of people would probably disagree with you especially since AD700 are open and the RX700 is closed so it just depends on how you look at it

edit: if you dont need much bass then open headphones like the AD700 or even HD 555 are good but for closed, more bassy, headphones im not sure

A lot of people haven't used both headphones then. Here's a quick comparison:

The only thing AD700s beat the RX700s in is comfort--by a lot. Yes, they've got a larger sound stage too, but the RX700's sound stage is big enough to pin point sounds in games, so you get little to no extra benefit in that area from AD700s. Then of course, the AD700s have no bass and a passive airy treble sound, while the RX700s give a good engaging balanced sound. Finally as I mentioned before, the price.

I haven't listened to HD555s myself, but from what I've read they seem to be in the same class as AD700s, so I wouldn't buy them.
